Why You Should Try Gobhi 65

Gobhi 65 is a famous dish from Indian cuisine, featuring cauliflower (gobhi) fried to a crispy perfection in a flavorful batter. This dish not only tastes amazing but also looks incredibly appealing. It is the perfect choice for family gatherings or friend get-togethers on rainy days.

Ingredients:

  • 1 large cauliflower, cut into small florets
  • 1/2 cup rice flour
  • 1/4 cup corn flour
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ginger powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • Water to make the batter
  • Cooking oil for frying
  • Curry leaves and green chilies (optional for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Batter: In a large bowl, mix together the rice flour, corn flour, all-purpose flour, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, garlic powder, ginger powder, and salt. Gradually add water and stir until you get a smooth batter without lumps.

  2. Coat the Cauliflower: Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter, ensuring each piece is evenly coated with the flavorful batter.

  3. Fry Until Crispy: Heat oil in a deep pan. Once the oil is hot enough, carefully drop the battered cauliflower florets into the oil and fry until they are golden and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.

  4. Garnish and Serve: For added appeal, you can fry some curry leaves and green chilies and sprinkle them over the fried cauliflower. Serve this delicious Gobhi 65 with chutney or ketchup.
